Festivals

Thomas Trilby is the performing name of Jem Maynard Watts.

Although performing and entertaining takes up the majority of my time it is quite seasonal so I also have a role as a freelance festival programmer - specialising in family activities, workshops and walkabout entertainment.

I have programmed such activities for Wychwood Festival in Cheltenham since it was founded in 2005. Attracting 7,000 people including over 2,000 children it is one of the UK's best family festivals. I programme over 150 activities, shows, workshops and demonstrations over two and a half days.

I also programme the family areas for the Cornbury Music Festival and End of the Road Festival  and street theatre for Greenbelt Festival.

Through these roles I have contact with hundreds of workshop providers, family entertainers and artists of every genre. This includes dancers, storytellers, puppeteers, painters, wood carvers, hat makers, mural painters, mosaic makers, songwriters, musicians, kite makers and flyers, drummers, jewellery makers, origami specialists, sculptors and many many more.

I am happy to take on the programming of such activities at any event, whatever the size.

Previous experience has also included programming other entertainers into larger events. I provided 10 entertainers for the opening of the first city centre Ikea store in Coventry and designed the costumes.
